Debut album from House of Pain, on Tommy Boy Records. Released July 28, 1992
I still remember the day I got this album on Cassette. I don't think this album came out of the Walkman for a week. I have since re owned this album on CD and nowadays often gets streamed.
Three L.A. Highschool friends teamed up to form House of Pain; Everlast, Danny Boy and DJ Lethal. The album contains some Hip Hop classics like the DJ Muggs produced "Jump Around", "Put Your Head Out" featuring Cypress Hill's B Real and "Shamrocks and Shenanigans"
This album initially received average reviews but over time has become a Hip Hop classic. "...a very solid and at times exceptional album...imagine if Licensed To Ill wasn't an upper middle class Jewish thing but rather a working class Irish thang...the atmosphere is like that of a cross between a frat party and a bar room brawl..."
